Journey From Everest To New York City
By Paul Berkman
Nepal is a country of snowy peaks and home to the most prominent Himalayas, and one of the highest mountains in the world, Mount Everest. It is known for its temples and shrines, instilling calm in its devotees, residents, as well as tourists who come from around the globe. From this country of the pure and affectionate comes Rajan Thapaliya with positive energy and dedication towards his work. Born and brought up in Nepal, he has a passion for writing and his writing style is praised by impressed people all over the world. With thousands of followers on Facebook, he’s a man of charm. Professor Dr. Eric Green writes about him, “He is a man of honesty and common sense. He’s very ambitious and does what he loves.”
Before his career kicked off, Rajan met Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, President of Nepal, who encouraged him to do something for his country. At that time, he promised to do something. Rajan was born in Nepal in a prosperous family. His grandfather was a prosperous farmer and they had big agricultural farms and land in Nepal. Education was always promoted in the family by his father who himself is a well-educated man, always encouraging others to strive for a better life. He believes that education is the only way forward as it helps enhance personality and one’s living standards.
Rajan respects and loves his mother a lot and describes a mother’s love in the following words: “There is no gift to your mom; it can never equal her gift to your life. Words are not enough to explain the unconditional love of mothers. I respect all mothers from the bottom of my heart who make their children’s future bright.”
Rajan has two other siblings, a brother and a sister. He lives in Woodside, New York and his teenage years were spent surrounded by a household full of books in different languages, instilling an everlasting love of literature in his heart.
He defines love as a song of the soul because it rings inside all the time when it happens, no matter where you go and wherever you are. That’s how his writing style is as well, deeply woven with human emotions, connecting with the mind and heart.
When asked about the most important thing in his life, he replied “Dreams”. Dreams are the most important thing in Rajan’s life as dreams push a person to keep striving for the best. He believes that dreams give new hope to life and that’s why he dreams as well.
Rajan’s unique style is characterized by the charisma he shows in writing and his witty sense of humor as well as subject knowledge and pleasant communication skills that are sure to impress anyone.
Rajan promised himself that he would become successful, and give back to his country and he has managed to do that without fail. His love for reading developed at an early age, while he was living in Nepal and the passion for writing soon followed, after at the age of 14. He later became a motivational, inspirational, and self-help author. His ultimate goal in life is to inspire people to live happier and meaningful lives. He is the writer of several books, including Think about it, Rejoice, Rejoice 2, Life Is Not a Problem, Simple Rules, Life Is Not Easy, Turning Point, and The Miracle of Life. His books are available at Barnes & Noble, eBay, and Amazon.
His upcoming projects include Rejoice 3, 100% Life, Kathmandu Express and two more untitled novels. 100% life is a motivational book about promises made in life to attain success.
Rajan wrote his first book, “Think about It” for people who are not satisfied in life and are looking for something better. It is a book for those who realize personal growth is a matter of choice and make a conscious effort to learn something new every day. As Buddha said, “What we are is the result of what we have thought,” which basically means that we need to think about things that we want so we can direct our life on that path and stay away from other paths that lead to things we do not want.
Rajan published his 9th book, entitled Rejoice. Rejoice is published through creatSpace publication, associated a world famous Internet-based retailer in the United States. The idea behind the book is that once you understand the basic rules of life and only then can you progress to higher understandings. The whole purpose of the book is to force the readers to examine the life they are living and make necessary changes to reach the destination of their choice. The book encourages one to do their duties perfectly without being attached to the results as a devotion to the Supreme Being sustaining the entire creation. This is a different concept from the ones taught by success gurus of the modern society which is goal oriented path.
Thapaliya describes life itself as being joyful and full of delight therefore we must rejoice in what we do have, unfortunately we are far away from rejoicing because we overthink everything. Life is all about perception. People are doing so many things in their lives, but they do not rejoice in what they do. We should be doing everything for enjoyment and for the joy of living but we are facing so many difficulties it keeps us from rejoicing the glories in our lives. To truly understand the value of life you have to appreciate the bad times as well as the good times. Without the bad times how could we possibly appreciate the good days. You have to feel your own spirituality in order to fully understand the value of time and its positive aspects. When you don’t understand and rejoice in your life you will never find the happiness you are looking for especially in this overly materialistic world. Whatever you do, wherever you are, you always look for the joy and peace that life and happiness can bring. Look for that peace everywhere. That’s the bridge to connect you and your own spirituality through being able to Rejoice.
Mr. Thapaliya simplified human life, the human soul and God in a very creative way through his poetry. People have to look around at what they have and not always want for what they are missing because there are many people who go without on a regular basis. Be happy with all you are given by grace.
Nowadays, Nepal is facing the aftermath of the earthquakes, at this moment, we have great responsibility in order to take care of our homeland. He is ready to help in whatever way he can. Author, Thapaliya, has already donated six hundred US dollars to Nepali earthquake victims for food and clothes. He announced that all proceeds of Rejoice’s net profit will go to Nepali earthquake victims. This is his promise and his commitment to his homeland Nepal.
Talking about his motherland, Rajan says that it is your identity and remains so no matter where you go. Your motherland always waits for you. Our love for our country is like our love for our mother because its soil contains the blood and love of our ancestors. The pain of the country feels like one’s own personal pain.
He also loves his second home in New York City and its people, where he currently resides. He has been living here for quite some time now. He finds new Yorkers as one of the most amazing people in the world. “I feel proud to be here living among one of the best people in the world”, he says.
Rajan is a passionate and full time writer. He believes writing is one of the best ways to connect with people. He loves sharing his feelings with his readers and friends. He feels writing literature is about connecting people’s mind to their hearts and thus, he tries to inspire them through his own life’s experiences. He is also inspired by other people’s struggles and achievements and believes that in order to be a good writer; you need to have great imagination to write great literature.
He says, “I have loved reading from childhood. I have read countless books, more than six thousand or so on different subjects religion, philosophies, poetry, science, and literature, but with no particular aim other than I enjoy it. Whatever I do, my aim is to enjoy doing it. I have a firm belief in myself. Success is never permanent. Failure is never final. Don’t give up, please try and keep trying, one day definitely you will reach your destination. Never stop your effort until your victory makes a history.”
When asked about the reason behind his success, Rajan replied, “Pure heart dedicated to work, honesty, loyalty, humbleness with people & in-depth knowledge of your subject matter. I want to keep encouraging people in the future. Life is for those who want to pursue their internal talent and have great dreams. He suggests people should never give up, whether in any field because nobody knows what will be happen next. Be optimistic God will help you to complete your dreams. Your life is guided by your thoughts, so do something, and be something.”
