Dinesh Raut is arguably the best movie director of the Nepali Movie Industry. He has directed several movies based on love stories, which is a huge success among the Nepali society. He’s a firm believer in quality, not quantity, when it comes to the movies he’s directed. It’s not how many movies you’ve made, but how good they are that’s important. Dinesh Raut is a director who seeks life’s passion in his movies. He loves life with all its intricacies, and that’s what he aims to capture in his movies, real life. A movie should be watched with the eyes of the soul, our hearts, and not with our skeptical, prone to criticism, minds, and deceiving eyes. He’s duly admired for his high quality works by all who know it. His love stories have captivated his public’s heart because of their innocence, yet deep mix of human emotions as can be seen in titles such as: “I’m sorry”, “November Rain”, and “Classic”. These movies carry human emotions in great depths.
His most in depth feelings and personality could be easily appreciated in his work. Such is the magnitude of his passion. Dinesh Raut’s love for everything that’s natural and spontaneous, his gentleness, and sensitivity — need an object here–. His calm personality, among a close circle of few friends, even though still friendly – need an object here – – . His calm passive nature serves as his best asset, giving him the sensibility and patience to acquire full understanding of his emotions and ideas, making him a real, true intellectual in all the sense of the word.
Mr. Raut believes life itself is a stage in which we all play a role. That also is reflected in his work which has been highly acclaimed by quite a few, but nonetheless his main goal has always been making great movies that bring joy and wisdom to his public, and that one day all his hard work doesn’t go unnoticed hopefully earning him the Academy Award. His commitment, dedication, and hard work have proven he’s a successful director. “I’m sorry “, his first movie, was nominated in many categories. Sure enough, he later won the “Best Movie Director” award for his mega hit movie “November Rain”, which also won another award for “Best Movie of the Year”. He recently received a “Box office film” award, a National prestigious cinema award NFDC “Prakash Sarbotkrista Director”.
Legendary director Prakash Thapa, who commercialized Nepali movies, directed numerous famous movies. It’s an honor for anyone to receive an award with his name on!
It’s the proper measurement of quality for the good director: Dinesh Raut, proved to be that qualified director. When he received the award his words were breve, but highly promising “This award not only makes me so happy, but is also the right incentive to do much better than I already have before”, promising himself to do even better in the immediate future.
Dinesh Raut started his filming career almost 20 years ago, and is currently working on two different scripts. He truly believes these are more promising than his previous works.
He started his career as an assistant director of a Nepali movie serial after which he worked as an assistant director of a Nepali feature film. He respects the integrity of the movie industry like life itself. In his eyes, life is a school, a university to which we all come to learn and play an important role. His long journey has made him a well-established director in the Nepali Movie Industry. Dinesh believes time is of no importance when it comes to giving his ALL to a good project, it’s all that matters to him. He’s had many offers from different producers, with whom he could have made several movies in a year, but his passion and strong will to always follow his heart, and fight for what he believes in, maintained him within his principles of “quality first”.
In the near future Dinesh Raut has dreamt to make a unique movie that would win him the Oscar Award. We should wish him luck in all his endeavors, but the good ones like him don’t need “luck”, they are good on their own, and that’s why they succeed. This is the way to introduce our country to the International arena.
