December 22nd, 2017, The Rotary Club of New York-Queens AKA Himalayan Rotary Club has been officially chartered and admitted to the global community of Rotary. Five Charter Board Members and twenty-three charter members were inducted by district governor Mrs. Wendy Walsh. In the presence of 90 honored guests including NYC Council member, Elizabeth Crowley, former district governors Dr. Tulsi Maharjan and Mr. Kamlesh Mehta, and council general of Nepal Mr. Madhu Marasini, it was an exciting and challenging to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services locally and internationally.
The founder of Rotary International, Paul Harris said, “Rotarians are very much more favorably disposed towards action than they are toward words” and Rotary international’s MOTTo is “Service Above Self”. We the fellow Rotarians are committed to harness the great power of friendship to help do the world’s work.
