February 17, 2018 (Queens, New York): A group of Rotarians and friends of the Rotary Club ofNew York-Queens participated in the celebration of Chinese New Year 2018. One of Rotary’s goals is to promote fellowships, friendships, peace and harmony among people of different nationalities and cultures. Dozens of community groups and approximately some ten thousand people from around the city took part in the celebration. The county of Queens is often time called the Borough of the world as it represents the most diverse populations and place in America. The colorful procession exhibiting various cultures, traditions and nationalities was a true testament to it.
The Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce was one of the principal organizers of the parade. The pre-parade reception was organized at the Historic Saint George’s Church where organizers and few others exchanged their New Year greetings. President of the Rotary Club of New York-Queens also spoke on the occasion. Nabaraj KC, Secretary of the Club deserves everyone’s thanks for taking the lead on coordinating among the Rotarians and friends. Thanks to all the Charter members, members, and friends of Rotary Club of New York-Queens for their active participation in the event.
