New York former resident Swaraj Khati, a dynamic, energetic and honest youth social leader name comes on the front line if we talk about a candidate that fits the Youth-Coordinator position at the national level for the forthcoming NRNA election.
Swaraj Khati who was born in Janakpur, Nepal finished his undergraduate study from Louisiana Tech University in Computer Science and Business Management. While he was there, he served Namaste Nepal Association (NNA), a Nepalese student organization as its President managing more than 250 members. The experiences he had while in LA Tech helped Swaraj build and enhance his leadership skills, time management skills and multitasking abilities. In August of 2015, Swaraj joined “Nepal Rising- Austin” a global initiative to help Nepal re-build after the catastrophic earthquake organizing several fundraising events. He is also a founding member and a member of the Advisory Committee of Nepalese Society at Penn State (NSPS); a Graduate Student Organization at Pennsylvania State University. Swaraj is an IT professional and currently works for Wells Fargo.
Swaraj hard work and dedication towards NRNA-NCC Youth forum as its member has proven him to be a great asset to the team. Not only he led and coordinated youths focused programs inside NRNA, but he is also still working on the full-fledged implementation of the idea of incorporating “NRN-NCC-Youth Forum” within the Constitution. Swaraj says, “constitutionalizing the Youth Forum will serve in establishing a recognized space for the youth inside NRNA, where educated youths including second generations can join NRNA for social work and perform at their best capabilities for the progressive change.”
Swaraj also added, “ There are no dedicated funds allocated for youth programs inside NRNA. New elected board should set youth participation and leadership development program in their major agenda item.”
Swaraj aspirations lie in building a sustainable community where youths and the older generations within the NRN will thrive by working together. Swaraj is determined to work towards the integration of the young people and the wise by working with all associated parties. If given the opportunity Swaraj is extremely confident that he will be able to align NRN-NCC- USA with the goal of NRNA youth affairs to effectively utilize and manage the collective efforts of NRN youths residing throughout the USA to expand, strengthen, and rejuvenate the youth network for the welfare of Nepal and the Nepali diaspora in the USA. He also ensures the coordination among various NRN Youth’s on Chapters around the USA, NCC Youth’s on more than 60 nations around the globe, and the ICC. He added, “I am determined to build a stronger youth forum inside NRNA so that educated youths including second generations can join NRNA for social work”.
